Child Custody Services
Dr. Altes understands how distressing and stressful child custody disputes can be. She will bring over 34 years of experience and professional training to focus on your children’s needs and to develop a child sharing plan that is in the best interest of your children. The court will determine whether a full child custody evaluation or a recommending mediation best fits the needs of your family. Note that Dr. Altes is prohibited by the ethics of her profession from accepting any appointment without her prior consent.
Child Custody Evaluations
When parents strongly disagree on a child-sharing plan, the Court can order a child custody evaluation to help determine the best-interest of the children. Highly-trained custody evaluators will consider interview data, records submitted by the attorneys, psychological test data, and information from collateral contacts to determine an appropriate child-sharing plan for the family.
Recommending Mediation
When parents believe that they may be able to reach agreements on some, but not all, of the child-sharing plan, the Court can order recommending mediation to help determine an appropriate child-sharing plan. The recommending mediator will help you reach all agreements possible and will make thoughtful recommendations based on the best interest of the children.
Meet Dr. Altes
Dr. Altes has been conducting child custody evaluations since 2000 and continues to take continuing education courses annually to increase her professional knowledge and expertise. She believes that every family is unique and takes the necessary time to listen and understand each family situation. Dr. Altes is thorough and diligent. She focuses on the children and their needs as she does her best to develop an appropriate child-sharing plan for the family that is in the childrens best interest.
